Dangers Of Smoking – Shocking Smoking Statistics!
The dangers of smoking are myriad. To the smoker, to the family, to the society, to the environment and to the economy. Shocking smoking statistics reveal that deaths through smoking-related diseases in the US are more than those through alcohol and drugs, car accidents, suicide, AIDS, homicide all put together. And the strange thing is, the smoker is never totally unaware of the many smoking dangers they face!
Some of the toxins released in ‘ lighting up’ are actually banned in food, and a horrendous amount of toxins are inhaled in cigarette smoking. These include nicotine, tar and carbon dioxide, to name a few. With the result of diseases like lung cancer, respiratory disorders and breathing disabilities, and heart ailments. Invariably a smoker will thus experience reduced physical capabilities, reduced stamina, reduced life expectancy, poor physical performance, wheezing, coughing, nausea, dizziness, tiredness and so on. The dangers of smoking quite honestly make life that much less enjoyable.
The other danger of smoking cigarettes is that it affects the health of non-smokers through passive smoke. A non-smoker is just as prone to lung and heart ailments as the smoker if not more, through second hand smoke.
Other smoking dangers involve the possibility of starting a fire. Many fires have been started by lit cigarettes left unattended. Air pollution is also a factor as carbon monoxide is constantly released through cigarette smoking.
Insurance companies are now charging more premiums for smokers. So not only is there a reduced life expectancy, but the monetary costs, including the high prices of cigarettes are astronomical. There are social and emotional dangers of smoking too. The smoker is constantly under pressure to stop smoking or to smoke only in restricted areas.
So much for the ‘ independence of smoking’ , but in short, these are just a few of the myriads of the dangers of smoking.

I was a smoker for 20 years, it has seriously effected my health, I couldnt run at all, I struggled to walk up the stairs.
