Smoking Drugs – Are They Recreational?
Are smoking drugs recreational? Just because something is legal does not mean that it should be used or abused. Recreational drugs have been outlawed for quite some time and while there are people who are willing to risk their lives to continue using them, the majority of the people in the world choose to obey the law. However, some of these same people also choose to smoke. Smoking is a recreational drug, it just hasn’t been outlawed: yet!
The chemical process in the body that occurs during a recreational drug use of a substance like cocaine is consumed is simple. The drug enters the blood stream and slowly, or quickly, moves throughout the body. Most recreational drugs cause effects on the circulatory system, central nervous system and the brain. The common feeling of numbness is why many people choose the recreational drugs in the first place. The body eventually expresses all of the drug and the effectiveness wears off. In some cases, another hit is needed within a few hours or a few days.
When the smoker lights up a cigarette, the nicotine enters the blood stream and moves throughout the body. The circulatory system is affected, the central nervous system is affected and the brain is affected. The body feels a bit numb and the craving for the drug is satisfied. But, only for a few short hours until that next hit of nicotine is needed. Sound familiar?
Recreational drugs do the very same thing to the body as cigarettes do. The body does not know the difference between that cocaine high and that nicotine high. All it knows is that it feels good when the drug is in the body and when that drug is gone, it needs some more. How long will it be before smoking drugs are finally outlawed?
