Stop Cravings – How To Deal With Smoke Cravings
Cravings are marked by the desperate urge to smoke. Anxiety mounts, wanting the satisfaction of another puff. Even though cravings can be severe they keep lessening in intensity the longer you stay away from the nicotine. They are uncomfortable but they will pass in 3-5 minutes. So just take steps to get beyond these short moments.
To stop cravings you need to learn how to deal with these smoke cravings:
- Distract yourself
- Have a plan on how to deal with them, remembering that every craving ends up making you stronger
- Don’t eat to satisfy the craving – one way to avoid putting on a lot of weight
- Remind yourself why you want to be a non smoker
- Breathe in deeply
- Remember that even one puff sends you right back to the nicotine addiction
- Don’t listen to the pleading voice saying that just one puff won’t hurt
- Change your routine
Don’t forget that old habits die hard, but this is one habit worth stopping and you can get help to stop the cravings and now quit smoking.
